Scalia Subjected to Probing Question, the Aftermath

We've been following the, uhm, fallout of the New York University law student
who asked Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia "Do you sodomize your wife?"
(Shouldn't it have been, "When did you stop sodomizing your wife?") To our
surprise, the, ahem, bone of contention seems to be whether the law student has
"right" to ask that question. Because it's really humiliating to have your
private life scrutinized in public or something. Yeah! Can you imagine making
laws about it? Whew. Now that would be humiliating.

The student who asked the question has responded to these criticism. His
email after the jump.

Fellow Classmates, .......... )

In other News Josh and I are going to Margaret Cho tomorrow night. I was surprised to hear there were still tickets available. Work is going well as always. I love my work and i find it interesting but now that I'm doing more business, planning, and process improvements even my nerd friends don't want to hear about what i do in my daily grind so I'll spare you all.

SO I'm trying to save money for NYC but my alcoholism got in the way last night. It was hella fun worth it though. Fabric was cutsie but I really like glass next door. I'm looking for a place with drinks and tapas to replace K bar and Glass might be it. [info]ckleam and I went to Malaga for Tapas happy hour cause we've never been. It was pretty good but not overly impressive. I want to check out Saba next since I’ve heard good things from [info]utjoshua. It was kinda of a bust to pay for Tapas though since they were serving yummy bits at Glass and Fabric and some where else I think. Saw Gay Comic Rob Nash that Casey is in crush with and he was entertaining and cutsie but there was some Doug guy on before him at the Velveeta room who was hot. Will C and Will SW came out too and it's always fun to party with them. Apparently I took my shirt off at oil cans which I hadn't done in a while and which shows how drunk I was. It’s also a testament to how much I’m getting back to the body I want though I’m still far from it now. It wasn't a very busy night with a lot of people but it was still tons of fun with good friends. I can't wait till Josh comes home tomorrow!! I’m still not sure what to do for our 6 month that’s not going to be too expensive.

So this is totally stolen from [info]niarbehtnozyob, who always finds hotness. Even thought I'm not usually attracted to other black men (a phrase i find my self uttering more and more these days so maybe i need to stop using it) but i have a special place in my libido for Marques Houston.

[info]smellyhobbs is in town for a day or so. We watched Sea Lab 2021 and tons of other Adult Swim. Good times

So I've once again had a great interaction with my hot gay mechanics at rational automotive. I actually don't think they are gay any more but they do still use words like "milieu" and reference Descartes in their website as well as giving me a good rate on my repairs so I’m pretty pleased. It just sucks to have car work done now when I’m trying to save up for my NYC trip. Hmmm I still need to find all the cool things to do up there.

Work still going well. I’m kinda burnt out but luckily I’m off on Monday for Memorial Day so that’s good for a little break. I need to make some plans for the long weekend. Josh and my 6 month anniversary is Sunday and mom finally got the hand of yahoo messenger so I talked to her last night and she's coming through Austin Saturday so hopefully we'll get to have a few drinks.

It'll be neat when all my friends are finally out of school. It's weird every year when there is another crop of fresh graduates looking for jobs and how to fit in the working world. And it also makes me competitive..... I get all wiggy if people do better coming out of college then me. But that’s just my neurosis.

and i was actually very modest in the quiz...

You scored as Sex God. You are a master at sex. You make your partner weak in the knees, and you know it. You've had the practice, and you've read the books, but don't get too cocky (pun intended) or you'll get put into place.

Hey boys and girls. So life is going super well. Josh and I will have been together for 6 months at the end of May and I adore him. As I’ve been telling every one it’s still a bit weird some times. I’ve never been this serious in a long term relationship before so I’m kinda still figuring out how I feel and everything else. We are planning a trip to New York City this October and that will be great. We can spend a lot of time alone together and planning things together has been fun. That will be a big mile stone for us.

My Roommates broke up, which any one that knows [info]utjoshua and [info]ckleam already knows. They are already doing fairly well about the break up but still kinda weird some times. I'm trying to stay out of it but it's difficult to do some times when living with them and having opinions about the situation. Joshua has a new boy who we like well enough. Casey is trying to deal. world goes round.

[info]pinchehuero moved back to Austin and i haven't stopped partying since. It's good having one of my best friends back. He was flinging with this dorky cute accountant.

And it's Summer so i love getting sun and every thing! i went to Barton Springs for the first time in the 4 years I've lived in Austin. I don't know what took me so long but it was fun and a hotty fest. The water was FRIGID though so i had to pull my balls down from my throat when i got out.

Work is going very well. It's starting to get stressful though but i like the added responsibility. there are rumors that I might finally start getting paid what I'm worth which will be hot. I'm also excited about pride season starting up. Josh is looking at having a lot of his friends come down for pride and i look forward to meeting them all.

back

So I need to update more and actually catch this journal up on my life but this was far too accurately unflattering not to post. I think I’m more on the fence in the rational and brutal traits then The "Smartass" moniker might entail though.

Smartass
You are 57% Rational, 85% Extroverted, 57% Brutal, and 85% Arrogant.
You are the Smartass! You are rational, extroverted, brutal, and arrogant. You probably consider people who are emotional and gentle to be big pussies who are obviously in lesser stature than you. You have many flaws, despite your seeming intelligence and cool-headedness. For instance, you aren't very nice. In fact, you're probably an asshole. And you are conceited and self-centered. Not only that, but you are very loud and vocal about all this, seeing as how you are extroverted. There is no better way to describe you than as a "smartass", I'm afraid. Perhaps just "ass" would do, too. But that's a little less literary and descriptive. At any rate, your main personality defect is the fact that you are self-centered, mean, uncaring, and brutally logical.

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more RATIONAL than intuitive.

2. You are more EXTROVERTED than introverted.

3. You are more BRUTAL than gentle.

4. You are more ARROGANT than humble.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Emo Kid.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Capitalist Pig, the Braggart, and the Sociopath.

wheee

So The new Whole foods is a bit overwhelming and expensive. The food is yummy though so i'll probably be back but i think my little central market is still tops. I just got tickets for Varekai the cirque du Soleil show and the Muppet Sing along at the drafthouse for Josh and i to do next week. I've been more aware of my money this year and apparently i've saved a good little bit of money with out even realizing it or changing my lifestyle. Josh and I are going to Pick Harrison up and head to Dallas for the weekend to check out the new Station 4 and see friends. I'm excited i haven't been to Dallas in forever. Work is going well. it's finally busy after a couple of slow months so i'm more interested in work again but the "ramp up" is always an adjustment. I just found out Yahoo will send driving directions to your phone so you don't have to print them out or write them down. Damn i love yahoo. It's so pretty outside finally i'm going to go frolic now.

Sing and All things Baylor and new

SO i had a blast visiting my friend Rochelle. It's been a while and i forgot how funny she is and how much fun we have together. She's got such a silly-smart wit and we match very well. i need to make it a point of seeing her more. I wonder though, since our not-hanging-out-very-often friendship works so well maybe i should force too much time together lest that now work out well.

Well sing was great i wish i could get pictures of it. Every frat and sorority has a "signature" move thats kinda silly but is in their choreography every year so every one cheers when it comes up. Dancing and Singing frat boys just never gets tiring even is it's not great theater

It was so good to be back on campus. They are capping the enrollment at 15k so hopefully we'll draw some better students now and be a more prestigious school. We also got a FIERCE new Sciences Building and it totally made me want to go to grad school in general but especially there.

I know it's kinda old school on the outside but it fits with the rest of the campus and it's just ridiculously lovely on the inside. There are labs for everything and tons of space and study room. The entire glass front is an atrium with a cafe and all. sex

We're going to a some show at the CRL where Carl also works tonight so it'll be cool to see some art. Then on to our new favorite place, K Bar.

Today was weird. Grandpa called me at work to tell me that his last older brother, that i have never met, died. he wants me to take off work next week to go to Alabama for the funeral. Now i have a whole lot going on next week at work and other wise. If ti were some one in my immediate family I'd definitely take off but it's not really worth the hassle and last minute plane ticket expense to me. I hope he takes it well that I'm not going. Tonight was a big night out with co-workers for birthdays and other assorted congratulations. We went to Sake on Sixth for $20 all you can eat Sushi. Josh was once again very adventurous and had the octopus and other stuff but still ended up ordering teriyaki chicken before too long. There service was SSSSLLLLLLOOOOOWWWW but still yum. I'm going to Baylor tomorrow for All University Sing which is the gayest university event ever. I love going back to the alma matter and I'm going to take a half day off work and see my friend Rochelle so it's a triple whammy.

valentines day

Ok so i made plans for dinner and Josh had hinted at doing something cool but i had no idea. Valentines day morning he called and told me not to make plans for lunch when he came to pick me up he showed up in this:

Except it was white and a sedan but you get the idea.

Then we had a picnic at Zilker park with wine and chocolate covered strawberries. We kept the car for dinner when i had reservations at Finn and Porter. There we ate the GNP of Myanmar. It was so good. Oysters, unagi nagri sushi, lobster bisque, multipal types of wine, Tempura lobster tail, lump cake with wasabi sauce, beef fillet, sparkling rose with pear tart desert, and chocolate covered strawberries.... again. To top the evening off we went to a Jazz concert and then went bar hopping before having rediculiously good sex.

Now thats a valentines day. and it's only the second valentines day in my 23 years that i actually had a valentine.
